What is it?

What is it about a hat that provokes a smile, a vamp, a conversation? Is it because they are rarely worn in our culture these days? Is it because one needs to be “brave” to wear one? I wonder.

We had a great deal of fun and hattitude at the Hat Chat on Saturday at Gallery Clarendon. I wanted to know which styles provoked interest and who may be inclined to take a moment of fantasy to a few hours of creative fun.

Good hats may be rare and expensive but they are so much fun to make. For me millinery is creative therapy. Want to join the fun?

Blooming!

My garden is blooming and so is my new Frida Halo Hat. Come on out tomorrow (May 11) to Gallery Clarendon, 2800 Clarendon Boulevard in Arlington, Virginia for a chance to try on lots of different styles, learn your head size, how to wear a hat and to sign up for a fun millinery class. The fun starts at 4:00 p.m. See you there.
